Aer Lingus has announced, with immediate effect, the removal of all fuel surcharges on its long haul services booked from December 12th. Since the introduction of fuel surcharges, the airline has kept the price of oil under review and has adjusted the surcharge level in line with movements in fuel prices. Las week’s decision has been taken in the context of reductions in fuel prices over a sustained period.


Aer Lingus' in-flight magazine, Cara, was awarded the prestigious Customer Magazine of the Year 2008 award, by the PPAI, at a ceremony in the Four Seasons hotel this month. Maxmedia, contract publishers for Cara, scooped the accolade against strong competition.


Aer Lingus Group plc today welcomed the positive outcome of the recent SIPTU ballot which delivers significant cost savings, work practice changes and pay inflation moderation for the airline. Aer Lingus has announced plans to introduce nine new routes for summer 2009 from Ireland to the UK and Europe. The fuel surcharge reduction represents a decrease of up to €20/US$40 per sector and comes as a result of the recent decrease in international oil prices.

Aer Lingus is to increase its long haul fuel surcharge on four of its long haul routes to the US, effective from Wednesday, 30th July 2008. Aer Lingus today announced details of its winter schedule from Dublin and Shannon airports. From the end of October Aer Lingus will operate double daily flights from Dublin to New York, daily flights from Dublin to Boston, four flights a week from Dublin to Washington and from Dublin to San Francisco and three flights a week from Dublin to Los Angeles and from Dublin to Orlando.


Aer Lingus today announced a new service from Dublin to Bourgas in Bulgaria. The new service marks the first Aer Lingus scheduled flight to Bulgaria and moreover, the only scheduled service from Ireland.


Aer Lingus Group plc has announced that it has exercised its rights under an agreement entered into with Airbus SAS in 2003 regarding the acquisition of four A320-200 aircraft.
