Navigators & General offer free policy extension for flood victims staying on boats.

In response to the recent flooding across the UK, pleasurecraft insurers Navigators & General (part of the Zurich Group) is offering a free extension of cover which will allow flood victims to use their boats for residential use, and extend personal effects cover by £5,000 for up to 6 months, while their homes are uninhabitable.

Standard pleasurecraft policies do not automatically include permanent residential use, and limit personal effects cover to possessions used in connection with the boat only. If anyone is having to go through the trauma of moving out of their house because of floods, the last thing on their minds would be checking that their boat insurance is adequate, should they choose to move onto it.

Richard Coleman, head of Navigators & General said, "We hope that this small token will help make things a bit less stressful for any of our customers wishing to move onto their boats. Policy holders simply need to call their insurance brokers, or N& G directly so that the necessary extensions can be made to their policy cover."
