Je t'aime... making waves in the Côte d'Azur
26 August 2007

The French Riviera is the playground of the rich and famous with well known glamorous locations such as Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Antibes and St. Tropez. This Hollywood style has been popular since Bridget Bardot appeared there scantly clad in the 1950's. She then went on to record the original version of Serge Gainsbourg's controversial song Je t'aime... moi non plus, which he wrote for her. A song that was declared offensive at the time of its release due to its explicit eroticism.

The luxury yachts of the French Riviera were once the exclusive preserve of the rich and famous, but it is now possible to have an affordable slice of this action. The latest trend in weddings, honeymooners, and hen parties is to do it in style with a luxury power boat on the Côte d'Azur. These fabulous boats combine the luxury of a large yacht with the speed and convenience of a power boat, with large inboard engines.

What could be more romantic than being transported to the reception, or being proposed to, on the crystal blue seas of the Côte d'Azur? With or without food and drinks hampers, this form of travel is the ultimate in the Riviera. It offers the opportunity to reach exclusive destinations in luxury and at speed. When there's a 'champagne hamper' on board, the experience becomes much more of an occasion and very memorable.

This year La Maison Jardin et Mer has added a fabulous 13m power boat to it's portfolio. La Galère can take up to twelve people directly between places such as, provençal restaurants, secluded bays or regional excursions across la Côte d’Azur. Clients regularly go to Monte-Carlo, St. Tropez, Villefranche, Menton and Antibes.

Ben Steadman, a successful London music promoter who owns La Maison Jardin et Mer says "We offer unique private charter excursions and specialised tours of romantic locations along the coast of the Riviera. Clients sometimes dine or take a drink, whilst celebrity spotting, on the terraces of the many famous hotels that are accessible from the sea. The location where the ‘The Man in the Iron Mask’ was filmed is a popular choice for a an exclusive destination that can only be reached by boat".

With 300 days of sunshine per year, bookings are available all year round from La Maison Jardin et Mer and are flexible with, weekly packages, full or half-day charters, hourly hire, single journeys and/or return travel for days and/or evenings. Packages can include prestigious cars and accommodation. Prices are subject to, season, numbers of people, numbers of power boats, and length of journey. All trips are tailor-made specifically for the client with their needs and requirements in mind.
