The Nordhavn 47 gracing this year’s HISWA Amsterdam Seaport Boat Show is a very special boat indeed. K.I.S.S. is of course a shining example of Nordhavn’s fastest selling, award winning ocean cruiser, but this particular boat also offers a glimpse into the flexibility that new and current Nordhavn owners have at their fingertips when it comes to personalising and modifying the blueprint design of their dream boats.

K.I.S.S. has been fitted with a number of modifications and upgrades on request of its owners, including the installation of electric, non-standard beds in the stateroom. Nordhavn has also added extra handrails and steps, and an extra head in the saloon area. This is positioned where the washer and dryer would have been but the challenge of doing the laundry that this caused was easily solved by the fitting of a combi washer/dryer.

Although K.I.S.S. is the personal vision of her owners, she is still a perfect example of the luxury, comfort, style and family friendly safety of every Nordhavn 47. Visitors to HISWA are sure to be impressed by this stunning mid-sized ocean cruiser that not only won the Trawler Yachts and Aft Cabin cruisers category of the Motorboat of the Year Awards 2007 but was also nominated for the same award in 2008.

The Nordhavn 47 quickly became the most successful new motor yacht launch in the history of Nordhavn. The innovative use of interior layout, enhanced by the voluminous design, gives her an extremely spacious and light appearance. The design not only provides the interior space but also assists in her exceptional sea keeping qualities, unusual for a boat of this size. The Nordhavn 47 therefore has the appearance and feel of a much larger vessel and is more than capable of ocean crossings and even circumnavigations.

She has a high bow and broad beam, designed to punch through heavy head seas with reserve buoyancy that builds confidence in even inexperienced skippers. Her robust construction, heavy-duty hardware and ship-like design all work in perfect harmony to create an extraordinary vessel that can take her owners anywhere in safety and comfort.

“From the choice of engines and stabilisers to electronics and interior design, every Nordhavn is unique, and we strive to be as flexible to the owner’s personal requirements as we possibly can be,” says Neil Russell, Director of European Sales, Nordhavn Europe. “The Nordhavn 47 at HISWA is an excellent example of this flexibility, with some unique modifications, which her owners are very satisfied with. We can consider many modification requests, such as making bigger access to the cockpit, installing ramps or widening steps. The choice is there as long as it doesn’t affect the inherent safety and comfort that Nordhavn is famous for.”
